What Yellowshinsei Thinks:
I have to admit I just watched this drama because of Jang Geun Suk, I was actually surprised when I saw Han Chae Young in it. I have to say the title of the series pretty much fits Jang Geun Suk right to the tee and it was so redundant shall I say for lack of other words to describe it. Let us break it down by character shall we?
Jang Geun Seuk. Not that I am a big fan of this guy but I do not follow his acting history track but compared to his old movies that I have seen him act, his acting has definitely improved in a big way. When he is given a good project with an awesome storyline he can definitely deliver. He does not need help in the pretty looks department because he is already good-looking as it is. When he is with IU his acting is lacking and weak, when he is with Han Chae Young and the scenes where he needs to cry, he can definitely hold his own and can act I guess he needs the motivation. Jang Geun Suk has a long way to go before he can be at par with good-looking actors who have solid acting experience and have the awards to back them up like Su Ji Sup, Kwon Sang Woo, Won Bin or Jo In Sung.
Han Chae Young as Yu Ra is another surprise. This is the first series that I saw Han Chae Young act in after a few years and she was a refreshing sight to see. There would always be one girl who would be such a fashionista and would look prettier than the lead girl and it would be Han Chae Young in this series. Her acting has improved a lot thru the years, and when Jang Geun Suk is in a scene with her, his acting greatly makes a 360-degree turn or the better. She has not much scenes where she can display her full acting prowess but she was good and she looks definitely pretty.
IU as Bo Tong. This is the first time I have seen her act in a series, I have heard before in a picture scandal involving super junior but other than that I have no idea about her. I do not like her much, she has weak acting skills, she goes by, by just acting cute and cuddly which ends up annoying me. Her choice of clothes is another hazy area, weird clothes choices she got here. She tries too hard to be cute but I really do not find her circle face cute at all. In a lot of scenes she can get pretty annoying and I thank God for fast forward buttons! In all the scenes her acting skills fade when she is acting opposite Jang Geun Suk and Han Chae Young.
If you want an awesome ending please do not end it with a peck. She kisses Jang Geun Suk like he has mouth herpes of something, just a peck no hugging and skinship involved at all. the ending was supposed to be happy, it ended with this kiss, it was quite dreary.
The plot and storyline of this series is not much to be crazy bout. The storyline is very weak but I have to say the background music and soundtrack is crazy good! The difference with this series and Masters Sun is Masters sun has a great storyline, awesome actors with solid acting niche and a wonderful soundtrack. Pretty Man meanwhile has a weak storyline, so-so acting from the actors but has a nice soundtrack. If you are a big Jang Geun Suk fan then by all means watch this series. Just keep your fingers ready to push the fast forward in Bo Tong scenes where IU goes insanely annoying. Jang Geun Suk and Han Chae Young aare the only saving grace of this series.

What Yellowshinsei Thinks:
Masters Sun is one of the few surprisingly nice series I have watched! I am on a rol watching these hit Korean drama series! From Moon Embracing the Sun, The Heirs, My Love from the Stars, then this Masters Sun.
Gong Hyo Jin - I have to confess I am not a very big fan of Gong Hyo Jin because she is not so pretty to look at but after watching her act in Masters Sun I have to say she is one endearing actress in kdrama land! I think she too knows that she has nothing to show in the looks department so what she lacks in that department she makes up for superb acting and looking so cute like a cat! When her hair is pulled down she looks decently good. I know this is a horror rom com series, but I just do not understand why she would also dress the part. I would have wanted her to look like the Korean version Jennifer Love Hewitt in Ghost Whisperer. The whole show can be horror but she can look good though. There were lots of scenes in the first few episodes where she herself also looks like a ghost! She looks ghastly! But I like her because she is not afraid to make fun of herself, she is not afraid to look ugly. She can act well too, she can act crazy happy and can cry buckets in the next scene. I love her chemistry with So Ji Sup, they can look good together, they act as if they indeed have a great fun time together.
So Ji Sup " What can I say I already love him since I saw him in Memories in Bali. That was supposed to be his launching vehicle to superstardom but his thunder was stolen by the equally handsome and great actor, Jo In Sung. I am glad he chose this project post-military service to reintroduce himself to his legion of fans and new kdrama viewers. There were scenes in the start of the series where he dragged Gong Hyo Jin by the hair; I just thought that was just awful it hurts! There is no denying by now that So Ji Sup is not only a good-looking eye-candy but he is also a great actor! I love how he looks so soulful in a lot of scenes and he has these hand gestures where he is just talking to himself, I thought he looks funny but with his facial expressions he just looks so cute! He is just one of a few Korean actors who can look manly and still rock a bandana in his outfits! He is so tall, so prettily put up and handsome! I love his eyes when he smiles; he is to-die-for! He is a seasoned series good-kisser! Haha! I can feel that in some scenes where he wants to just put out those tongues Kim Soo Hyun-style but puts it off because he feels awkward with Gong Hyo Jin. I love the last episode kiss. They just have oozing chemistry; super love the last scenes of the series at the rooftop where they were just whispering and laughing and kissing. Loooooove it! I realized I miss So Ji Sup so much, I am so glad that my fave oppas from the late 90s Korean Hallyu actors are so back in the acting scene, him, Jo In Sung, Lee Jung Jin, Kwon Sang Woo and now just waiting for Won Bin.
Seo In Gook - He by the way sang a song for the OST so he is a good singer and a good actor. This is actually the first series I saw with Seo In Gook acting in it! He does not look bad I realized but I have to say he needs to hone more his acting talents. He has the x-factor and can be big star like Kim Soo Hyun and So Ji Sup. I was just so sad for him because his love for Gong Hyo Jin was unrequited and yet he chose to love her still. I also glad that he has learned to move on and love another person who loves him so much. I love his clothes because he wears mostly suits here so he looks dashing every time. I just feel that his other guy role and arc was just too weak to be included in the So Ji Sup-Gong Hyo Jin love team. I felt that the arc of Lee Chun Hee as Yoo Jin woo the guy who also has the sixth sense, who fell in love with Gong Hyo Jin’s spirit was a much better arc for the other guy.
Soundtrack - The Masters Sun OST is by far one of the best OST in the few Korean dramas of 2013-2014. My fave songs are the ones sang by Hyorin: Driving me Crazy, Yoon Mirae: Touch Love, Gummy: Day and Night, Hong Dae Kwang: You and I in that order. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that Hyorin of Sistar sang Driving me Crazy. Because when I watched the series I did not read reviews of synopsis beforehand so I have no idea about the series nor the songs. When I heard the song I just noted that I love the husky bedroom voice and that it sounded like Hyorin and was surprised that it was really her! This song was usually played in the scenes where So Ji Sup and Gong Hyo Jin are holding hands, hugging or having vast time having skinship!
Touch Love by Yoon Mirae is so light and happy and beautiful too. This is the first time I heard her too, love this song a lot along with Day and Night and You and I. The soundtrack is so beautiful it makes me go crazy! I play the 4 songs on loop on my iphone.
Storyline " The storyline of this series is quite different; it has a whole horror flick premise in the first few episodes borderline Ghost Whisperer arc to it. The story is not so much composed and strong but the actors are awesome in this series especially Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sup. The supporting characters are great too, I especially love the 2 kids in Gong Hyo Jin’s apartment they were brilliant and funny and oh-so-cute! The storyline has some loopholes in it, some arcs are left hanging until the end but the superb soundtrack just seals everything! There were scenes where I was left hanging and looking like blah but then the soundtrack starts playing and I am so in the mood! It was crazy! Kim MiKyung as Joong Woos aunt song ran is also in this series she also played the mother of Park Shin Hye in The Heirs, she is everywhere. She won in the SBS Drama Awards by the way. So Ji Sup meanwhile moved on to win the Top Excellence Award and Seo In Guk the Newcomer award.
What more reason must I say for you to start watching the series? I super love So Ji Sup like crazy!
^If you are a fan of L then this is your lucky day, he plays the young So Ji Sup in this series. He does not have great acting skills but he can do the part and he looks absolutely gorgeous!
^ Seo In Guk also lent his singing voice to the series OST, he is a good singer too!
^Masters Sun OST:
This series has one of the best OST ever! It helps in the mood-setting of the story.
Here is the OST:
1)Hyorin of Sistar singing Driving Me Crazy
This is my fave OST song, it indeed drives me crazy. I was quite surprised that Hyorin sang this but I thought I love the bedroom husky voice!
2)Hong Dae Kwang singing You and I
The happy and bubbly song usually played in the happy moments of Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sup of light moments of Gong Hyo Jin and So In Guk.
3)Yoon Mirae singing Touch Love
Another beautiful light love song! Awesome singing by Mirae!
4)Gummy singing Day and Night
How can you go wrong with Gummy singing the OST, she has an awesome powerful voice. Her song sets the mood for sad scenes where the actors are in deep thought.
Here are the songs in the OST:

DATING (UN)-RUMOR MILL
So this is the second part of the dating rumor mill blast that is making me crazy these past few days because it involves some of my fave kpop singers and actors! I bet they are your favourites too! Believe me I am just waiting for more SNSD girls to go public with their relationships and waiting for Park Shin Hye to announce that she is freaking dating Woo Bin or Lee Min Ho oppa!
1.) Tiffany of SNSD Girls Generation and Nick Khun - SHE BEING MY FAVE SNSD MEMBER, I AM SO HAPPY I SHIP NICK KHUN AND TIFFANY, KHUNFANY IS SO BORN! THEY SHOULD GET MARRIED ALREADY! JUDGING FROM THEIR COUPLE BRACELETS, MATCHING JACKETS, TWITTER UPDATES, SHARED DOGS THEY ARE SOOO DATING!

A source close to the two apparently told the media outlet, As Tiffany and Nichkhun are both representative Hallyu stars, they have been meeting cautiously. It is true they have been close for a long time to the point that they were rumored to be dating since a while ago. It seems like since they have both lived in the U.S., they had a lot of similarities and remained close. However, they have only recently progressed into a couple for the past 4 months.
Immediately after the report, JYP Entertainment revealed that this is true! As it has been reported, Tiffany and Nichkhun have been dating for 4 months. They started off as friends and became a couple. Please watch over them fondly, a rep said.

KISSING IN THE CAR:
Dispatch' says that the two have been dating for 4 months now in the utmost secrecy. It's said the reporters from the media outlet first spotted them while EXO was practicing for their first concert. Taeyeon provided moral support for the exhausted Baekhyun, who had to spend nights practicing due to the group's redoing of their choreography and recording with Kris's lawsuit.
Taeyeon headed towards Baekhyun's dorm and picked him up at a discreet location and enjoyed a date in the car. 'Dispatch' says they also spotted the two on several dates including before the concert as well as after the concert on the 26th and on the 28th before Girls' Generation's leave for Japan. Baekhyun would also meet Taeyeon near her dorm as well.
An insider apparently revealed, "Baekhyun picked Taeyeon as his ideal type as he was debuting, and Taeyeon found it cute... The two showed their interest in each other towards the latter half of last year, and started to date officially this February."
Stay tuned for updates including a statement from SM!

My Love from The Star : Korean series
My Love from the Stars
Love from the Star,
To him my love from the Star,
Man from the Stars,
Man from Another Star,
You who came from the Stars,
You from Another Star,
My love from Another Star,
Gianna Jun Ji Hyun as Cheon Song-yi
She is a top Hallyu/ Korean actress who is very blunt and believes that she is every man's type, until she meets her stoic neighbour, Do Min-joon. She soon develops feelings for him and tries to make him fall for her. Cheon Song Yi is ignorant but has her own unique charms. Song Yi has had a difficult childhood as she took on the role of the breadwinner of the family at the age of 15. This is partly the cause of her personality today. What I love about her despite her demerits is that she is very true to herself and that she is candid. This is why some people can be offended-Song Yi speaks out whatever that’s on her mind. Song Yi also has this madness to her that makes you can’t help but fall for her. Her madness is of course, commonly seen when she is drunk.
Kim Soo Hyun as Do Min-joon
He is a very cold and distant being; he loved a girl who lived during the Joseon Dynasty for liking him as his true self, an alien. After the girl dies saving him, he waits to return home. Living a lonely and isolated life for centuries, he one day meets Cheon Song-yi, a girl looking exactly like the one he loved 400 years ago. Do Min Joon, the alien is cut-off from society because he does not want to be hurt by making friends and having to see them grow old while his young facial features remains. Song Yi managed to unlock his heart with her quirky character. Min Joon is very reserved but it is shown in the drama that he becomes a big ol’ softie when he is around Song Yi. Min Joon moves our hearts with his endless efforts to protect his loved one despite having only a few months on Earth.
Park Hae Jin as Hwi Kyung
He is Song Yi’s child hood friend who has a crush on her for the longest time. He has a vast amount of character development in the series. He is obsessed with Song Yi and into finding who her 12 year crush is. Se Mi meanwhile also harbours a crush on him since they were young. He is the youngest of 3 sons of the S and C Company, he is a Chaebol, he does everything so his father would accept him and love him the way he did with Jae Kyung.
Number of episodes: 21
Production Company: SBS
Do Min Joon lives through the next four hundred years to the present day where he works as university professor and falls in love with a haughty top actress, Chun Song Yi. Do Min Joon is an alien that landed on Earth 400 years ago in the Joseon Era. He helped a 15 year-old widow and ended up missing his only chance to go back to his own planet so he has to wait for another 400 years. He lived all these years in isolation and loneliness until his last three months on Earth when he met a doppelganger of the widow he helped 400 years ago. Min Joon could not help but feel attracted to her but since this is his last three months on Earth what will he do?
What Yellowshinsei Thinks:
When this drama series started I was very hesitant to watch it because I cannot seem to fathom Jun Ji Hyun paired with a young lead actor. They seem to not have any chemistry and she look a bit too old-looking for him. But after months of delaying and seeing the series winning lots of awards and fans loving it, I gave in and watched it marathon style.
Jun Ji Hyun as Cheon Song Yi
As you can see Jun Ji Hyun is one of my all-time favourite Korean actresses but my love for her mellowed thru the years because she does not have a lot of movies and series and projects. But she has always been one of my top k-actresses. I super love her skin! She looks so young and so stylish!
There can be no other actress to play this role! This was made just for her! She is such a great comic, she makes me laugh like a crazy person in this drama. I love how she is not afraid to make herself look crazy and act crazy and funny. I have always known that she has the knack for comedy when she did My Sassy Girl. This woman is funny to the bone! But scenes that call for seriousness and depth, she tackled it head on too!
Kim Soo Hyun as Do Min Joon
I have been a big fan of Kim Soo Hyun since I saw him in Moon Embraces the Sun but my love and fanaticism for him has never been this big, it has really gotten big since Moon Embraces days. Love the scenes of Do Min Joo in the shower! Holy clouds he has got the best washboard abs in k-pop la la land! I never knew all those abs where under those frail-looking bod of his and his wool shirts and suits. Big props to KSH for being such an awesome actor in this series he has totally honed his acting craft, no wonder when JJH won the Baeksang Award for Best Actress 2014, she gave big props to KSH, he brings out the best in her! There is nothing that I would ask more from KSH, he looks good in all the scenes, his clothes, suits, sweaters, all look good on him, he can cry buckets in the heavy scenes, he hugs JJH so tightly, and man he kisses her so passionately! And she responds to his urgent kisses with such intensity too! I like the fact that he was neither daunted nor overwhelmed by the fact that he is acting with the biggest Korean Hallyu actress, JJH! He held his own alongside her.
Park Hae Jin as Hwi Kyung
He is one of those really good other guys in Korean dramas at par with Won Bin in Autumn in my Heart kind of actors. It just pains me to see that he craves acceptance and love from his father, his family and with Song Yi. But his character has one of the biggest developments in the series. He was a happy go lucky kind of boy at the start of the drama but he evolved into a strong-principled and sharp-minded son of his dominant father. He protected Song Yi even after realizing that she cannot love him as much as he loves her. If the 2 leads do not end up together, I swear Hwi Kyung was such an awesome backup boy! Loved his line where he told Song Yi, I hope there is room for me now in your life. Awww…He is good-looking too, and taller than the statuesque JJH!
Yoo In Na as Se Mi
She is my least liked character in this series. She speaks so softly, so angelic and so virginal after crushing Song Yi and making her life miserable. I just hate her guts! Plus I have deep dislike for Yoo In Na’s doctored nose, there were a lot of scenes when I cannot stand her fake angelic face I just had to fast forward her useless scenes. I am so sorry I just cannot stand her nose and her face I have nothing more to say about her and her character. I am so bothered by her nose! I am weirded out by the fact that she is still acting nuts and saying crazy things in the last episode! Last episode!
Shi Sung Rok as Jae Kyung
Oh my goodness! He has all the badness in one k-drama villain embodied! His looks and his chiselled face and distinguished cheekbones just give me the chills and fears! The mere look at him, I am so terrified, every time we see him, my shobe and I just scream and shudder in fear. He is so right for his role! He also has strong acting talents that overshadows a lot of actors he is in scenes with. It amazes me how he is not easily fazed by the fact that there are people like his brother and Do Min Joon who are already close to divulging his secrets and web of lies. He always kept his cool, he amazes me. He should get a Baeksang Award for his character! He is an awesome villain!
The romantic chemistry:
This series is the best when it comes to romantic chemistry! One major reason why this series is a big hit is because Kim Soo Hyun is not overwhelmed by Jun Ji Hyun, he can act pretty well and he knows he is the man and he takes the lead in all their romantic scenes. He is not afraid to hug Jun Ji Hyun tightly, he initiates intimate scenes, he coyly plays with her in bed and man did he kiss Jun Ji Hyun like a rabid dog licking his bone! I loooooooove all their kissing scenes, it looks so natural and so love the fact that when KSH kisses JJH, she kisses him back like crazy too and touches him all over! When it comes to k-dramas my major pet peeve is when the actor kisses them lead actresses act virginal and just stand there stunned no body contact and hands falling on her side like a freakin voodoo doll. This series is different both KSH and JJH have the most passionate kisses all over the series! I love it! And they have the most smashing chemistry in Korean drama land! I swear I have never been this excited to see them together! I have never seen any series with this great chemistry ever!
JJH and Hwi Kyung also have chemistry but not as awesome as compared with JJH and KSH. I just love his height, he is so tall he is taller than JJH and she is already tall. There were parts in the drama where I was almost resigned to the fact that KSH will no longer return and have thus said that Hwi Kyung is not too shabby choice either. He may be childish in the start but he developed into a moral, strong-principled gentleman worthy of JJH’s love and his father’s acceptance. He too has great chemistry with JJH, they should do a movie together. It just pains me to see him do everything for Song Yi and yet he knows that she will never love him as much as she loves Do Min Joon. He has one of the biggest character developments in this series.
One of the most different and new plots I have seen after years of watching Korean dramas! I watched it marathon style because I was so looking forward to the resolution of the story, how and alien would love and end up with a Hallyu star! Everything was well-directed and written. I just did not like the parts where they are in the present day and then the next scenes are from the Joseon era where KSH just starts reminiscing, it made me dizzy. Though there are crucial scenes that the only way to understand it is a flashback. But everything was well crafted and planned and written. All the JJH-KSH scenes are just something to look forward to, they are just acting so natural, they hold hands, they hug tightly, he caresses her hair, they BOTH kiss passionately! There is just so much chemistry in these 2 love them! The 2 of them staring at each other makes my feet wobbly from so much chemistry! It makes me laugh when Min Joon and Song Yi kiss, Min joon starts having fever and he gets sick, those scenes are hilarious!
I love the fact that KSH is taller than Jun Ji Hyun! I mean she is already so tall herself like 5’11 or something and yet she wears 3 inch heels but he is still taller than her! I love looking at them together.
Another stuff I have to write down is the fact that Se Mi’s brother, the Prosecutor Yoo Seuk is so gorgeous!! Can he not get any cuter than that! My shobe and I were staring at him and bolted out “He looks like Seung Song Hun!” but he is cuter, he has less eyebrows that makes Seung Song Hun look satanical haha! I love all his scenes because he is such a cutie and he is so good in his job, he does not let personal attachments cloud his judgment for his case. He even accepted the fact that KSH is an alien matter-of-factly without hesitations and without wondering if he is crazy!
Hwi Kyung andJae Kyung’s eldest brother looks so familiar, he is such a cutie, like a young Park Yong Ha or Ryu Shi Won. What is his name? Someone help me here.
Just in case you want a review (Hahaha review!) of the series and want to rewatch crucial scenes here it is:
Ep 8 Yes we have a kiss here between JJH and KSH!
Ep 9 is the start of the climax of the series.
Ep 9 KSH imagines JJH is his wife haha!
Ep 16 they were sleeping together.
Ep 17 the unravelling of all the secrets.
Ep 18 sleeping together again and travelling.
Ep 19 – 21 all the kisses in these episodes, they have so much kissing scenes and these are wet passionate kisses not the blah kisses of Jung hwa- Shin hye kisses in Heartstrings.
And for all that I give this series a 10 and that is already very very good!

He has the reputation of being an honest man with high integrity, but in reality, he has a troubled relationship with his children, has a nasty mouth, phrasing any nice words into horrible words, just as he does at home. He is a world renowned leader, yet at the same time, he cannot even cook a bowl of noodles.
Im Yoona of Girls Generation as Nam Da Jung
Nam Da Jung, a 28 year old 3rd year Tabloid reporter representative, is in charge of reporting romance scandals. At the first glance, she appears to be a very smart woman, however, she is actually very clumsy, constantly making mistakes and embarrassing herself. She once dreamed of becoming a novelist like Jane Austen; however, in a society where one cannot make money out of ‘arts and culture’, being a writer is a far-off dream for her. In the end, she ends up using her talents in writing, her ‘HOT’ editing skills, and eye as a photographer to become a reporter of Scandal News. Because of her father's (Lee Han Wie) extended stay in a nursing home, due to Alzheimers, she has to work tirelessly to support him. For the sake of achieving the next big scoop, she follows Kwon Yool day and night in an attempt to write an exclusive on any news.
Yoon Shi-yoon as Kang In Ho
Kang In Ho, 32 years old, Top elite officer in Prime Minister office Ever since the first time he had met Da Jung, he found her unique and interesting. However, when she started pestering Kwon Yul to marry her, In Ho began to perceive Da Jung as just another woman (who wants to get close to Prime Minister), and despised her greatly. Later on, when he got to know the reason behind Da Jung's pestering, he regrets misunderstanding her. He decided that he could only love her even more, and does not want to regret anything else in his life. He just wants to prove to Da Jung that when he said he would protect her, he truly meant it.
Chae Jung-an as Seo Hye Joo
Seo Hye Joo, 35 years old,is Kwon Yul’s hoobae from university, closest assistant and was Kwon Yul's confidant since his assemblyman days. Calmer than anyone, she is a decisive and smart woman, but a fool when it comes to love. At the beginning of her university life, she fell in love with Kwon Yul at first sight, but never disclosed her affection for him. She is satisfied with just being able to always stay beside Kwon Yul in work and hides her feelings, until one day, Nam Da Jung’s appearance drove her mad. It was a path that she has not even crossed.
Ryu Jin as Park Jun Ki
Park Joon Ki, 42 years old, Minister of Strategy and Finance, is Kwon Yul’s brother-in-law and political opponent. He is a man full of confidence and ambition. He is currently in a political marriage with Na Yoon Hee. He works hard for his career, and awaits his time to shine. During his university years, he and Kwon Yul were very good friends, but when he found out that his first love, Seo Hye Joo, was in love with Kwon Yul, he knew that their friendship was over. After Na Young’s accident, he assumed that her death was due to the weariness caused by Kwon Yul, and could not forgive Kwon Yul. His only ambition is to win against Kwon Yul in every field.
Prime Minister's Kids
Choi Soo Han as Woo Ri
Jeon Min-seo as Na Ra
Lee Do Hyun as Man Se
Prime Minister is Dating
Prime Minister Kwon Yul (Lee Beom-Soo) works well at his office, but he struggles to raise his three children alone. Nam Da-Jung (Yoona) is a Scandal News reporter full of enthusiasm at work, but she always ends up missing big scoops. Nam Da-Jung comes to Kwon Yool and his three kids like a Christmas present.
What Yellowshinsei Thinks:
As I was flipping thru series that I want to watch, I came across this series and boy was I in for a shock as it has a refreshing rather different storyline. I hope its viewership ratings would go up because this is such a promising series.
Right from episode 1 we can see how different the 2 worlds of Nam Da Jung (Yoona) and Prime Minister Kwon Yul are. He is debonair looking, typical politician and is poised to be the next prime minister of Korea while she is a struggling, clumsy, brash young reporter from Scandal News, who for some weird reason always end up not getting the big scoops. I love Yoona here she played her part well and I bet she has taken a few acting workshops because her acting has greatly improved from here previous works.
Lee Bum Soo as Prime Minister Kwon Yul is as brusque and dashing as he can be. He may be the most powerful politician in the land, he has great political ambition and ideals but when it comes to his children he is such a failure that is why I pity him a lot. He has this certain aura in him, despite the huge age gap between him and Yoona, I have to say they actually have chemistry together, they look good together.
Ryu Jin as Park Jun Ki is indescribable, It has been years since I last saw him act in a series and I can really say physically he has aged, it is evident on his face. But his body is still looking good somehow. I just cannot stand his role; he is a conniving, shrewd brother-in-law who does not love his wife’s husband at all. I really cannot understand why he is so angry with Kwon Yul for moving on and marrying another woman, Da Jung. I mean his sister, and Kwon Yul’s former wife is long long dead and she cheated on the prime minister so Kwon Yul has every reason to freakin move on with his life already! It has been 7 years too!
From episode 5 onwards I was really bothered with the huge age difference but seeing how the Prime Minister looks for his age, they can really look good together though. They actually bring out the best in each other they just do not know or realized yet. I love the scene where the Prime Minister told Da Jung that from then on they will now sleep in one bedroom together, which was just right because they are a married couple and so they can talk about their problems together before the sleep. The scene where Kang In Ho hugged Da Jung was also a very moving and sad scene but they look good together too because they are of the same age but the title of the series is not Kang In Ho and I now is it?
As much as I love Yoon shi yoon, I really love him because he is undeniably handsome but it really creeped me out when he told Da Jung that he likes her a lot and she did not reciprocate, it creeps me out that he did not step back and continued to pursue her!
Man Se is the most adorable person in this series! In his own little and cute ways, he endears himself to his father and endears his father to Da Jung! I love his little door that opens up to Woo Ri’s room, I like that! The one thing that is not fully used and not working for this series is they sparingly use beautiful music. Not like The Heirs where every pivotal scene has a good music playing around it. Too bad because they have Taemin of Shinee singing one of their main theme songs. This is another series that started very nicely and very promising but ended in a blah note. There were times when the story got so boring and redundant the only saving grace are scenes where they got Suho oppa in it. Haha!
My fave scenes are:
When the Prime minister told the media in episode 9 that He will never let go of Da Jung, I will never let go of this woman that was so sweet of him!
Ep 10: Kang In Ho helping Da jung pick up the dolls that the madams kicked and these dolls got soaked in the rain. He is such a sweetie!
I had to rate this series with an 8 because as much as there was enough chemistry between the Prime Minister and Da Jung, I just do not get the point why Park Jun KI his brother-in-law still harbours ill feelings and revenge towards his former brother-in-law. Did the prime minister something so grave for him to be angry with him after all those years? Beside it is not as if he caused his sister’s death. But besides this point the rest of the series is lovely, coherent, sweet and the chemistry between the 2 leads are undeniably strong!
Noh Young Shim joined as the music director and theme composer of the drama series. "Footsteps" was the first track to be previewed on the series at the end of its third episode. It was revealed that the piece was composed and arranged by Kim Jung Bae while Taemin of Shinee lend his vocals for the record.

We were There: Part 1 Japanese movie
We Were There: First Love (Part 1)
Ikuta Toma as Motaharu Yano
Yuriko Yoshitaka as Nanami Takahashi
We Were There Part 1, Bokura ga Ita, Bokura ga ita Zenpen
We Were Here: True Love (Part 2)
We were there follows the 10 year romance between Motaharu Yano and Nanami Takahashi. During their high school days, Yano was the most popular boy in school, but cannot get over the death of his former girlfriend from a car crash. Takahasi Nanami falls in love with Yan and must deal with his inability to let go of the past.
What Yellowshinsei Thinks:
I began watching this movie accidentally in Red Channel and I cannot seem to get over the simple yet brilliant story, it is very touching and well acted. It was a wonderful to rediscover Ikuta Toma all over again; I have lost touch with this actor after I watched him in Hana Kimi Japanese series.
Ikuta Toma has aged thru the years, he looks so young when he acted in Hana Kimi, if this movie was done like a good 6 or 10 years ago he would have been looked the part as he plays the role of a high school student in We Were There: First Love. He may be 30-ish but he can pass of as a student still plus he still looks handsome as ever, with the help of some cgi effects and good make-up. The looks have changed and his youth gone but his acting skills have only improved thru the years. I think he is fit to play the pensive and troubled Yano. We get to journey with him as he discovers his life after his former girlfriend died and his reluctance to move on with Nanami.
This is the first j-movie I have seen Yuriko Yoshitaka act in. She looks cute and pretty too, and she has good chemistry with the equally handsome Ikuta Toma. In terms of acting skills, I think she has better acting skill set than Ikuta Toma. I just get bothered by the way she dresses, the bulky dresses and high school uniforms she wears makes her bigger than she really is. I hope the wardrobe will change in part 2.
This is a movie about the innocent relationship of Yano and Nanami and there is another story on Yano's not being able to move on from his troubled past. The cinematography of the movie is a tad different from other j-movies simply because most of the scenes in school are very ethereal. I like how the scenes of Yano and Nanami at the beach are shot and even there high school classroom scenes looking very different. This is a good Japanese movie to watch especially if you a big Ikuta Toma fan. Fangirls would love to discover and watch this movie! Too much of the sweetness will drown out everything but yes fangirls of Toma will love this!
1. Based on the manga "Bokura ga Ita" ("We Were There") - first published in 2002 and has sold over 10,000,000 copies.
2. Live action "We Were There" will be released in two parts with the second release coming to theaters one month after the first part.

We Were Here: Part 2: Japanese movie
We Were Here: True Love (Part 2)
Ikuta Toma as Motaharu Yano
Yuriko Yoshitaka as Nanami Takahashi
Takaoka Sosuke as Masafumi Takeuchi
We Were There Part 2, Bokura ga Ita, Bokura ga ita Zenpen
Preceded by: We Were There: First Love
Yano has moved to Tokyo and Nanami follows soon
after to apply to a university in the city.
However, before they can continue their relationship
as previously planned, Yano vanishes without a trace.
Years later, Nanami moves in with Yano’s friend Takeuchi.
What Yellowshinsei Thinks:
I was just confused with why yano and Nana were moving away from each other
There were times when they felt that the best way
is to avoid each other and pretend that they are okay without each other.
But nonetheless I was relieved and glad that Yano realized how much he
loves Nanami and did something to end both
When you have finished watching Part 1 you would come to wonder
why they chose Ikuta Toma as the lead guy and the lead guy in part 1
is a high school student, you would wonder why him?
He looks older already but still he can pass of for a high schooler.
In part 2 you would realize why choosing Ikuta Toma for the lead is a good move.
In part 2 he is already older and he is already working so everything is appropriate
I found this second part We Were Here a lot better than the first part,
I like how they look, I like their acting too and I like it because the story
was the focus and not much music was played in it.
It made me focus on the story.
The second part has a lot of dramatic twists,
I got to a point in the movie where I was so confused
because there were lots of problems in Yano’s life
I felt that there was much focus placed on those problems
like his ex-girlfriend’s mom’s hospitalization, his mom’s problems and death.
Everything was shifted away from the love story.
But anyway, if you are a chick flick fanatic and Ikuta Toma fan girl,
be sure to watch this movie because you wlll love it!
This has a decent storyline a must watch movie!
1. Based on the manga "Bokura ga Ita" ("We Were There")

2. Live action "We Were There" will be released in

Are Ikuta Toma and Yoshitaka Yuriko?
What do you think are they? I am so out of loop with my Japanese rumor mill!
Are they kissing?

FX – RUM PUM PUM PUM
Happy New Year Everyone!
Yehey for the comeback video of fx, I know this is late but I was so inspired to post after watching their live performances.
This is more like a commentary shall we say about their evolving style.
Because the music itself has always been very good!
From Electric Shock:
To doing the Rum Pum Pum Pum:
The music video is a bit of a letdown for me because everyone is in freakin red!
Krystal especially her hair was horrendous in this video! But I really liked her in the Heirs.
She had very very burning red hair with yellow outfit
here that made my eyes bleed out! Thank goodness she is a very beautiful woman;
her beauty was not lost in the horrendous hair color and outfit!
She looked so pretty in their old music videos;
she looks as beautiful as Yoona of Girls Generation:
Krystal looking scary and flushed out in red
The leader of Fx has not changed so much.
She is still looking so finesse and pretty!
As always she never seems to be caught in a dowdy outfit and hairstyle.
All her outfits fit her to a T and she definitely lost some weight in this video.
Old pictures of Victoria:
A thinner and prettier Victoria:
Victoria in Rum Pum Pum Pum, she looks prettier here,
her weight loss is quite evident, I guess she needs that to maintain her popularity:
My favourite Fx member, hehe her position as my fave is in grave danger .*blink blink*
But as usual my girl is looking so beautiful as ever.
She just needs to let go of her tomboyish side and be more girly in her outfits or at least bearable to see.
I hate her outfits in this music video and in all live performances.
She wears over sized shirts that do nothing for her frail frame and beautiful almond-shaped face!
She looks very very to the superlative degree pretty,
SM should fix her up more girly not manly or tomboyish.
Old pic of Amber:
Please SM stop dyeing your artists’ hair into blonde it is killing me...
Amber, Henry, Eunhyuk, Taemin, Hyohyeon, Sunny!
Amber look a lot more pretty with Caramel colored hair.
I have to say orange outfits do work for her body, she looks prettier in orange!
Oh man Amber is so pretty! This is her best shot in the RPPP video!
Liver Performance at Music Core:
I know my favourite Fx member is Amber but when I saw Luna
and especially Sulli performing in music core their new song Rum Pum Pum Pum,
they were a revelation. They had a change in hairstyle that suit them best!
She has the best style revamp out of the group,
she had long black layered hair that suits her best!
Her outfits looked very mature and sexy and not outrageous.
Luna please jeep this hair color and hairstyle for a long time!
Plus I super love her blue outfit in the music video.
Old Picture of Luna; he looked lost with long hair,
I do not even look at her in their videos,
she is the most under estimated member of Fx:
Super pretty pic of Luna in Rum Pum Pum Pum, the black layered hair suit her best:
Luna looking absolutely beautiful:
She looks a lot like Michelle Yeoh or that lead actress in Karate Kid 2:
Have to save the best for last!
Sulli is so pretty she has truly evolved in her style!
The short caramel colored hair with red highlights is so pretty on her!
I think the shorter hairstyle suit her best because
she has a pretty face and her former long locks
could not allow her face to shine.
She is way pretty with the shorter hair and the red lipstick!
This is Sulli from their debut video Electric Shock:
Pretty Sulli in caramel and red short hair
After all this hoopla do continue supporting Fx!
I love Fx! Awesome songs and more awesome live performances!

DATING GAME IS ON!
I have been so excited for these blooming love lives of some of my favourite k-actors and actresses and singers! The SNSD ones are just latest breaking news while Won Bin and Moon Geun Young are not.
Sooyoung of SNSD and Jung Kyung Ho
Yoona of SNSD and Lee Sung Ki
Won Bin and Lee Na Young
Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum
1. Soo young and Jung Kyung Ho
I know I cannot start every sentence in this news with the sentence I was shocked but I really am as this news of Soo young and Jung Kyung Ho dating came just a day after SM confirmed Yoona dating Lee Seung Ki! What's with all these SM entertainment people news they are confirming everything! All these good looking gorgeous ladies of SNSD of course are dating in secret, SM will only confirm if they are both good-looking and if the publicity will benefit their artist. Maybe that guy Jessica or Tiffany or Hyoyeon is dating are private people so no need for confirmation! Haha! Jung Kyung Ho is such a cutie guy and he is taller than Soo young so that’s good haha! This made me want to rewatch Sweet 18 all over again!
Both SM and Kyung Ho's agency confirms the rumor. Another surprise with SM! Here's what they said: "The dating rumors are true. While they were close as sunbae and hoobae last year, their relationship progressed into that of a couple… Please watch over them fondly."
Here's what his agency said:
"He and Sooyoung are dating… We are sorry that we did not respond truthfully the two or so times the rumors were reported. At the time, when we asked Jung Kyung Ho, he had said that it wasn't true so we had responded that way before. We are sorry. We will reveal our official statement soon."

2. Yoona and Lee Seung Ki
I was also shocked of this news! I was shocked because 1st reason, SM confirmed this relationship they NEVER confirmed dating relationships. Maybe they made an exception for this because they are both famous and good-looking people. 2nd reason, this is Yoona for heaven's sake, the second youngest girl in SNSD! I never expected SM to confirm dating relationships! Haha! Now whenever I play SNSD's My Oh My music video I always watch out for Yoona haha!
Another celebrity couple has emerged with the start of the new year as Dispatch has released their exclusive report just now, announcing that they've captured Lee Seung Gi and Girls' Generation's YoonA enjoying several dates!
The photos they've released are from October 8th, 2013 when Lee Seung Gi returned from his Japanese concert. According to the media outlet, after returning from Japan, the singer was spotted heading to an apartment in Samsungdong, which is where he picked up YoonA. The two then headed off to the Han River area where they enjoyed an hour long date. Seung Gi then dropped the female idol off at her home and she was reportedly seen carrying a shopping bag, which contained a gift that Seung Gi had bought for her in Japan.
The two are said to have started seeing one another back in September and have been growing in love for 4 months now, dating in the utmost secret. In addition to this date, Dispatch reports that they've spotted the two together on October 13th, 22nd, as well as several dates in November. Lee Seung Gi had mentioned YoonA being his ideal type since a long while back, and was especially teased for it when he hosted Strong Heart, adding credibility to the report of the two dating.

3. Won Bin and Lee Na Young
I was just super shocked with this news! This news brought my tiny fragile Korean-loving, Won Bin-adoring heart to a bazillion pieces! After I picked up the tiny pieces of my heart I realized that the man is already 36 years old and it is about time he moved on from the ex-girlfriend and long-married Han Chae Young. Better because he moved on with the very beautiful and equally private Lee Na Young! I am excited for this couple!
Fans brace your hearts as Won Bin is indeed off the market! It has been confirmed that the actor and actress Lee Na Young are an item! Unlike other agencies that take a day to respond with a drawn out explanation, the agency of both actors, Eden 9, has already released their official statement, which may be one of the shortest official statements in the history of the Korean entertainment scene.
Eden 9 commented through a press release,
"Since Won Bin and Lee Na Young are part of the same agency, they ran into each other frequently due to projects and advertisements, so they started to naturally develop feelings and recently progressed into an intimate relationship. The two are at a cautious beginning stage, so please watch over them with affection." Congratulations to this new star couple!!
Celebrity couple Won Bin and Lee Na Young attended a friend's wedding together on December 15. It was their first time appearing in public together since they admitted they were in a relationship so they attracted quite a bit of attention!

4. Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum
I am so excited for this relationship because Moon Geun Young has always been a private person and not much news about her and her co-stars but this one is already confirmed by their agencies to be so true!
To add to the list of celebrity relationships, it's been confirmed that Moon Geun Young(26) and Kim Bum(24) are dating! Rumors erupted that the two 'Goddess of Fire, Jeongi' co-stars have been in a relationship for one month, and Moon Geun Young's agency has officially confirmed that it's true.
Namoo Actors announced on the 1st, "Moon Geun Young and Kim Bum grew fond of each other through "Goddess of Fire, Jeongi". They're currently just getting to know each other and are carefully beginning a relationship. Please look on them kindly."
There are also reports, which haven't been confirmed, that the two were spotted going off on a trip to Europe together as they're currently on break after the end of their drama. Moon Geun Young is in the process of searching for other projects after 'Goddess of Fire, Jeongi', while Kim Bum is doing the same after promoting the Chinese film 'Young Detective Dee: Rise of the Sea Dragon. Kim Bum didn't get the girl in "Goddess of Fire, Jeongi", but it looks like he nabbed Moon Geun Young in real life!
26-year-old Moon Geun Young and 24-year-old Kim Bum met in the set of Goddess of Fire : Jungyi and although their character in the drama wasn't destined to be together but in the real life they are dating. And we loved that this couple decided to be honest with their relationship. Just five minutes after their rumored relationship swirled, their agency acknowledge it. Moon Geun Young’s agency (Namoo Actors) released statement that Moon and Kim Bum started their relationship while working on Goddess of Fire, and stated that they just started for about a month.
The agency also confirmed that the couple are in Europe for a vacation with friends and colleagues to celebrate the drama’s end. So happy for them, and also check their photos when fans found them hand in hand in Prague

Arang and The Magistrate : Korean series
ARANG AND THE MAGISTRATE
Lee Jung ki as Kim Eun Oh
Shim Min ah as Arang
Other Titles: Tale of Arang, Arang the Magistrate, Arang and Her Magistrate
A nobleman named Kim Eun-oh (Lee Joon-gi) comes to town searching for his mother after hearing a rumor that she is staying at the village of Miryang. He has the special ability to see spirits, but pretends he doesn't because he gets annoyed when spirits come up to him asking for a favor.
Arang (Shin Min-ah) has lost all her memories when she became a ghost and is unable to rest in peace until she finds out how she ended up dead. However, after appearing to three magistrates, none of them survive the fright of seeing her. When she finds out that Eun-oh is able to see her, she begs for his help.
At first, Eun-oh rejects her request. However he changes his mind after seeing that Arang is somehow in possession of the hairpin that he gave his mother at their last meeting. He believes that if he helps her, Arang will regain her memories and give him information about his mother. He exasperatedly (then affectionately) nicknames her “Amnesia” and as the town's newly installed magistrate, he teams up with her to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, which may involve the mysterious nobleman Joo-wal and have supernatural ramifications.
What Yellowshinsei Thinks:
This is the first series that I will see Lee Jung Ki act in after his military service I had to watch it and review it because most of my friends were raving about it.
As usual Lee Jung Ki’s acting in this is series is as always impeccable. He has improved his acting skills thru the years. But he looks so much older than when I saw Jo In Sung in That winter the wind blows. But he has depth in his acting and it makes for a wonderful drama like Arang. His experience in the military has aged him gracefully, he has strength and depth in acting that I have never seen him before, he was always a goody goody boy next door actor before his military service, but now in Arang he has much experience and intensity. The manly man chiseled look suits him.
I was so laughing my heart out in the scene where Arang was showing herself to the 3 previous magistrates! She was so funny, I think Shim Min ah excels well in making people laugh than she does in drama. I am not really a big fan of Shim Min ah. Ever since she dated and finished dating Jo In Sung, I am not a big fan. She looks ok in the looks department too, does not compare to the elegance and beauty of say Song Hye Kyo and Kim Tae Hee but she seems to know how to choose her roles. These funny woman roles suit her best. I simply love arang she was funny, spontaneous, careless, clueless, and yet totally awesome actress.
The jade emperor, the first time I saw him I was like Arang I really thought he was the old man! The jade emperor looks so mighty fine! He is a k-pop star haha! He looks so dapper in his clothes too. I was totally not expecting that the emperors or kings of heaven and hell are actually fraternal twins (Yoo Seung Ho as King of heaven and Park Joon Gyu as king of hell) and that the emperor of heaven is the younger cuter twin, did not see that coming at all!
This is a must see series simply because it is fully packed with everything it has action, romance, comedy, suspense, fantasy and everything rolled up into one nice package with the cute face of Lee Jung Ki on as a cherry on top. They have everything from the fantasy world in this series, each character with its own compelling back stories, I enjoyed each and every one of them. Shim Minah has this knack for comedy, for some weird reason she makes me laugh a lot! Glad I did check this series out. Lee Jung Ki and Shim Minah are awesome in this series. This series may not be perfect but I cannot think of any as of this writing so I gave it a perfect kimchi rating.
